I don't know enough about film history, but I'm sure it might have inspired the whole "hooker-who-falls-in-love" genre. There is a great scene where a cripple who's kind of a jerk really thinks he's been healed. Then he stumbles and falls in the church. You laugh and feel horrible for him at the same time.Paulihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17506171638613025839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9099675.post-1133246697951529522005-11-29T01:44:00.000-05:002005-11-29T01:44:00.000-05:00I love this movie.I love this movie.Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00879330932031937557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9099675.post-1133215633179761292005-11-28T17:07:00.000-05:002005-11-28T17:07:00.000-05:00that makes sense. i thought i was out of 10 for so...that makes sense. i thought i was out of 10 for some reason. 6 out of 7 is much better than 6 out of 10.

yeah, it's probably not all that accessible to people with an irrational fear of subtitles and odd italian things.Lucashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02047006924444489024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9099675.post-1133207589664451022005-11-28T14:53:00.000-05:002005-11-28T14:53:00.000-05:00lucas, that would be funny, but I rank the films o...lucas, that would be funny, but I rank the films out of 7. The reason I didn't give it a 7 is that I don't think the film is accessible to more general audience, which really isn't Fellini's fault. Plus, I'm ok not being a film snob that has to like any film with subtitles :-)

Evan, thanks for the recommendations, I'll add them to my Netflix queue.~greghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03643717782718495294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9099675.post-1133205393639379262005-11-28T14:16:00.000-05:002005-11-28T14:16:00.000-05:00I love this movie. Of all Fellini's films it is probably the hardest one to watch first.

You should check out 'I Vitteloni,' 'La Strada' and 'La Dolce Vita' and then watch '8 1/2' again.

Those are my 4 favorite Fellini films. Anything outside of those is too esoteric or grotesque to be worth the effort.Evanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01778100629498964672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9099675.post-1133202366291773032005-11-28T13:26:00.000-05:002005-11-28T13:26:00.000-05:00a 6??? wow. you could have at least given it an 8....a 6??? wow. you could have at least given it an 8.5 just to be clever.Lucashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02047006924444489024noreply@blogger.com
